In GALLERY I, the work of Takashi Murakami, who has made a name for himself in a variety of professions--from curator, collector, to film director--rubs shoulders with the serene, natural beauty of Yufuin. These masterpieces, one of which is “Snow Moon Flower Triptych” (2001), bring Japan's traditional art and historical perspective into the modern age.
GALLERY II houses the exhibition for Hiroshi Sugimoto’s most famous series, “Seascapes.” Sugimoto utilizes original techniques to evoke the impact that photography had when it was first invented. The monochrome world of his photographs project a hush and stillness, as well as a great power.
OPEN GALLERY evokes viewers through its surreal size the work prompts the 「Your Dog (temporary title)」 With Nara's work, these themes and influences manifest in a monumental and symbolic expression of a spiritual dimension, evoking childhood memories, the innocence of youth, and the depths of human experience.
